Have you explored various types of therapy and are seeking an alternative approach that could really make a difference?

HEALING FROM WITHIN

What is KAP?

KAP is a research-supported therapeutic method in which clients take a medically prescribed dose of a psychedelic during sessions with their therapist.

This process can facilitate deep introspection and emotional breakthroughs that are sometimes more difficult to achieve with standard psychotherapy alone.

During sessions, therapists support clients through their experiences while under the influence of the medication, helping them explore and resolve underlying issues.

The overall goal of KAP is to enhance therapeutic outcomes by utilizing the medication's unique effects to accelerate emotional healing and cognitive restructuring.

HEALING IS POSSIBLE

KAP can help foster the change you've been seeking.

Heal from the Impacts of Trauma. KAP provides hope for those grappling with trauma's lasting scars. Through guided sessions, it offers a safe space to explore painful memories, gently unraveling their hold on the mind. With the medicine's unique ability to foster growth in the brain, you can gradually reclaim a sense of safety and empowerment as you navigate your healing journey.

Ease Depression and Anxiety. For many battling depression and anxiety, traditional treatments fall short. KAP offers a lifeline by providing more rapid relief and clarity. With a compassionate therapist by your side, it's more possible to delve into the roots of your emotional struggles, finding resilience and hope in the process.

Walk a Path of Personal Transformation. Beyond trauma and mood disorders, KAP offers promise for a wide range of psychological challenges. From addiction to existential distress, it opens doors to profound shifts in consciousness and behavior. With ongoing research, it holds the potential to revolutionize mental health care, offering new avenues to healing and wholeness for all.

How does KAP work?

KAP leverages the unique effects of psychedelic medicine to facilitate significant changes in the brain and enhance therapeutic outcomes. When safely administered in controlled doses, the medicine induces a state that temporarily alters activity in brain areas related to mood and perception. This disruption allows for a shift in neural circuits, often resulting in increased connectivity between different brain regions that can help break up entrenched negative thought patterns.

As you engage in therapy during this altered state, the medication can help you access and process deep-seated emotions and experiences more effectively. The goal is to harness these neurological changes to foster breakthroughs, emotional release, and a renewed sense of perspective, thereby supporting lasting improvements in your mental health.

YOUR WELLNESS IS OUR PRIORITY

OUR APPROACH

What does a KAP session look like?

01

We'll prepare you for your journey.

  • You'll meet with your therapist to discuss your goals, trepidations, mental health history, treatment plan, and therapeutic intentions.

  • You'll receive a referral from your therapist to meet with a medical practitioner at Klearmind, who will ensure that you are an appropriate candidate for the treatment. If appropriate, you'll receive your medicine directly from Klearmind.

  • Your therapist will be a valued partner in this process as they pay close attention to your unique needs and help you feel well prepared for your journey.

02

We'll walk alongside you on a guided journey.

  • During a 2.5 to 3 hour session, we'll utilize the first hour to revisit your therapeutic intention and participate in pre-journey activities that you and your therapist discussed in your preparation session(s).

  • Within the second hour, you'll take the medicine and with the closely guided support of your therapist, you'll experience the effects for approximately 45-70 minutes.

  • As the effects of the medicine subside, you'll begin integrating the journey with your therapist through discussion of your experience.

03

We'll help you get the most out of your journey.

  • In a follow-up session(s), you'll continue discussing your experience with your therapist, gaining insights and meaning and developing actionable items such as setting goals, developing coping strategies, and addressing maladaptive thought patterns to help maximize the benefits of the medicine.

  • We'll revisit your therapeutic intention and treatment plan, helping ensure that you are moving toward your goals.

  • If additional KAP treatments are planned, you'll begin preparing for your next guided journey.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial for most people who are experiencing emotional distress, relationship issues, life transitions, or are just seeking personal growth. If you're unsure whether therapy can help you with your goals or concerns, we offer a free consultation call to discuss your needs and help determine if therapy is the right fit for you.
  • What types of conditions do you treat?
We treat several conditions and work with a variety of life challenges, including PTSD, developmental and relational trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and difficulties in relationships. If your concern is not listed here, we encourage you to reach out to us for a consultation call, and we can either match you with a therapist who works with your particular concerns or refer you to an appropriate resource.
  • What types of therapy do you offer?
We offer evidence-based therapies that include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and more. Our therapists integrate a range of therapy modalities in order to best tailor your journey to your unique needs. We work collaboratively with you to determine the most effective approach for your goals.
  • How long does each therapy session last?
A standard therapy session length with us is 45-50 minutes. Therapy intensives can range from 90 minutes to 6 hours.
  • How frequently should I attend therapy?
The frequency of therapy depends on various factors, such as the severity of your concerns, your schedule and finances, and your therapist's recommendation. Initially, weekly sessions are often recommended to establish rapport and momentum, but we also offer sessions on an every-other-week basis.
  • How long will it take to feel better?
The duration of therapy and time it takes to reach milestones in your mental health varies depending on individual circumstances, goals, resources, and commitment to treatment. Some clients may achieve desired outcomes in 12-16 sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We will work with you to establish realistic goals and regularly review your progress to determine the appropriate duration of therapy.
  • Is therapy confidential?
Yes, we take confidentiality seriously. Your privacy is of utmost importance, and all communication is strictly confidential, with few exceptions as mandated by law. These exceptions are when there is imminent threat of harm to yourself or others or you disclose child or elder/dependent adult abuse). These exceptions will be thoroughly explained to you in the intake paperwork and during the first session.
  • How much does standard psychotherapy cost?
Our rates for standard psychotherapy sessions range from $160-$175 per 45-50 minute session and $185-$200 for the intake appointment.
  • Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Recognizing the importance of accessibility, we set aside time for clients with lower household incomes and offer reduced fees accordingly. If financial constraints are a concern, please feel free to reach out to us, and we will accommodate when possible.
  • How much does a KAP session cost?
There are two separate fees for KAP: 1. You will first meet with our partner, Klearmind, for the medical portion of KAP. They will ensure you are a good fit and will manage your medication. The initial consultation with Klearmind is $325, which includes the prescription for 6 doses. 2. The second fee is for psychotherapy sessions with us at our regular fee of $160-$175 per hour. KAP sessions are usually 3 hours but may vary according to your needs.
  • What is the cost for a therapy intensive?
    Our rate for a 1-day intensive, including the pre-intensive assessment (2, 90-min sessions) and post-intensive integration sessions (2, 45-min sessions) is $1,860. The fee for a 2-day intensive is $2,660 and for a 3-day intensive is $3,460.
  • Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider. Please note that we do not bill health insurance directly for our services. However, if your insurance covers out-of-network providers, you may be eligible for reimbursement. We can provide a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance provider.
  • How do I make sure I don't incur surprise fees?
The No Surprises Act ensures that you don't incur surprise fees from healthcare providers. The following is a form that you will receive when you engage in services with us. It is also posted here for your financial protection and should be made available to you from other medical providers as well. SURPRISE BILLING PROTECTION FORM This document describes your protections against unexpected medical bills. It also asks if you’d like to give up those protections and pay more for out-of-network care. IMPORTANT: You aren’t required to sign this form and shouldn’t sign it if you didn’t have a choice of health care provider before scheduling care. You can choose to get care from a provider or facility in your health plan’s network, which may cost you less. If you’d like assistance with this document, ask your provider or a patient advocate. Take a picture and/or keep a copy of this form for your records. You’re getting this notice because this provider or facility isn’t in your health plan’s network and is considered out-of-network. This means the provider or facility doesn’t have an agreement with your plan to provide services. Getting care from this provider or facility will likely cost you more. If your plan covers the item or service you’re getting, federal law protects you from higher bills when: You’re getting emergency care from an out-of-network provider or facility, or An out-of-network provider is treating you at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center without getting your consent to receive a higher bill. Ask your health care provider or patient advocate if you’re not sure if these protections apply to you. If you sign this form, be aware that you may pay more because: You’re giving up your legal protections from higher bills. You may owe the full costs billed for the items and services you get. Your health plan might not count any of the amount you pay towards your deductible and outof-pocket limit. Contact your health plan for more information. Before deciding whether to sign this form, you can contact your health plan to find an in-network provider or facility. If there isn’t one, you can also ask your health plan if they can work out an agreement with this provider or facility (or another one) to lower your costs. You are entitled to receive this Good Faith Estimate of your potential charges for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services from the provider(s) listed, nor does it include any services rendered to you that are not identified here. This Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or a prediction that you may need to attend a specified number of psychotherapy visits. The number of visits that are appropriate in your case, and the estimated cost for those services, depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with your therapist. You are entitled to disagree with any recommendations made to you concerning your treatment and you may discontinue treatment at any time. The fee for a 45-minute psychotherapy visit (in person or via telehealth) is $140. Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of psychotherapy visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than once per week, depending upon your needs or desires. Based on a fee of $175 per visit, you can utilize the following equation to estimate your fees: $175 per visit (x) ____ visits per week (x) ____ weeks = $_____ For example, for a client who attends psychotherapy sessions once per week for sixteen weeks, the estimated fees would be as follows: $175 per visit (x) 1 visit per week (x) 16 weeks = $2,800 You have a right to initiate a dispute resolution process with U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges). If you choose to utilize this dispute option, you will be required to submit your claim within 120 calendar days from the date of your first bill. There is a fee to utilize the HHS dispute process. If the agency reviewing your claims agrees with you, you will have to pay the price of the good faith estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with your health care provider, you will be required to pay the full amount. You are encouraged to speak with your provider at any time about any questions you may have regarding your treatment plan or the information provided to you in this Good Faith Estimate. Please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises for more information or to start your dispute claim.
